Welcome to my departmental homepage.
My name is Tyge Schiøler and I am currently doing my PhD at the Deployable Structures Laboratory which is part of the Engineering Department at Cambridge University, UK.
These pages contain some information about research that is either complete or ongoing. My PhD has been biased towards the design of structural elements capable of being stable in at least two different configurations. The right half of the movie below shows a prototype truss where thirty of the truss elements have been exchanged with bistable elements. The left half shows a computer model of the same truss.
Alongside the research pages there is a list of my publications here as well as a list of relevant links.
